Born and raised in New Orleans Richard Bienvenu got a BA from Spring Hill College in Mobile and a MFA in Film Production at University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He also lived in Seville, Spain where he taught English.
He spent 16 years in Washington State, created an alternative energy farm on 65 acres and finally moved back to New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina. A dyed-in-the-wool New Orleanian he’s also a trained classical singer, plays piano and guitar, produced and recorded two albums: Tone Poems – original solo piano; and Awaken the Dream – original songs for guitar and vocals.
He’s the author of Your Own Personal New Orleans Tour (available on Amazon) a lively and practical guide that helps visitors and locals alike experience the city the way real New Orleanians do. He’s glad to be able to bring his skills to the airwaves as host of Completely New Orleans on WGSO!
