NEW ORLEANS (WGSO) - The University of New Orleans wasted no time in hiring native New Orleanian Joe Pasternack as Head Basketball Coach of the Privateers, succeeding Buzz Williams.
The 30-year old Pasternack, who attended Metairie Park Country Day High School, has served as an assistant at the University of California since 1999. Prior to his job under Ben Braun at Cal, Pasternack was a student manager for Bob Knight at Indiana University from 1995-1999. In his 12-year career, Pasternack has been part of eight NCAA tournament teams. Pasternack succeeds Buzz Williams, who left UNO to become an assistant at Marquette last week after just one year on the job. |
