Mark your calendars for the City of Covington’s Annual Old Fashioned Family Fourth of July Celebration on Saturday, June 28th. This wonderful family event, always held the Saturday before the 4th of July, will begin at 6:00 p.m. in Bogue Falaya Park. This year, once again we are very proud to have the New Orleans Navy Band performing, followed by a breathtaking fireworks display beginning at dusk (approximately 8:45 p.m.), compliments of The Times-Picayune! Guests are welcome to provide their own picnic fare. Concessions made available by the Kiwanis Club include traditional hamburgers, hot-dogs, and soft drinks. The Lions Club will be on hand selling beer and the Covington Boy Scouts Troop 160 will be there selling jambalaya, sausage on a bun and bottled water. Come out and enjoy fabulous music and a thrilling fireworks display in beautiful Bogue Falaya Park. This family event is free and open to the public.
