WGSO 990 AM has learned that Eric Held has been named head football coach at St. Michael of Baton Rouge. Held leaves Redemptorist High of Baton Rouge, where he had been serving as an assistant under Guy Mistretta. Previously, Held served as an assistant coach at Archbishop Rummel (Metairie) and was the head coach at St. Mary (Natchitoches) before leaving for Redemptorist after the 2005 season.
Held is from the New Orleans area and played high school football at Brother Martin High School. St. Michael made the 4-A state playoffs a year ago, losing to Holy Cross in the opening round. |
