METAIRIE - WGSO has learned that Archbishop Rummel Head Soccer coach Tim Burns has resigned after five seasons on the job.
In those five seasons, Burns coached the Raiders to a district title, two state semifinal appearances, two state quarterfinal appearances, and two regional playoff appearances.
The coaching change is the second significant move at Rummel in the past week with basketball coach Steve Alfonso stepping down.
Burns says he is taking a sabbatical from coaching after 25 years. He will remain at Rummel in a teaching capacity. Athletic Director Phil Greco has begun the search for a successor. |
