Mandeville fire officials reach new heights with new truck PDF Print E-mail

MANDEVILLE, La. - It’s new and state-of-the-art; at least that’s what fire officials say about their latest toy, a 100 foot latter truck that will also increase your protection if a fire threatens.

“It will help us rescuing people from taller buildings then we were able to before with the 50 foot. So it will increase our capabilities over the old truck,” Fire Chief Rick Tassin said.

He told WGSO the 50-foot latter truck will be retained in service thus doubling latter protection for the district. So breathe easy Mandeville residents now if your cat gets stuck up a 100 foot tree, the fire department can get him down.

Tassin said the district is currently training firemen in the operation of the new truck.
