Car crash claims life of Slidell man |

COVINGTON, La. - A Slidell man died near the intersection of Highway 190 and Military Road early Sunday when his car swerved off the road nearly plowing into a local gas stations fuel pumps.
State Police told WGSO the driver of the car, Matthew M. Menefee of Slidell, veered to the right after nearly slamming into the fuel pumps sending the car into a swirl that caused it to bounce off close by support beams and back into the pumps.
Menefee ran off the street for reasons that still remain vague and under investigation. Two other passengers of the car are recovering from slight injuries.
Calato said investigations into the accident are ongoing. |
