COVINGTON, La. - If you’re looking to trim some inches and drop some pounds, you’re in luck. A new version of 'the biggest loser' is coming to St. Tammany Parish.
But authorities told WGSO they will be doing it Covington-style.
They’re all coming off… the pounds that is. At least that is what the contestants of Covington’s experimental Biggest Loser contest are hoping for, but city officials say there are other reasons for the contest too.
“It’s also a day of fellowship. Sometimes you have to do all three; the mind spirit and the body, so we’re hoping we can catch them all,” Councilman Frances Dunn said.
She told WGSO the contest is aimed at the ladies of the community and the winner will be rewarded at the end of the six month program with a prize. So don’t be looking for Ali Sweeny at this contest but you can be looking to be named the biggest loser.
Officials said the monthly meetings will begin January 26 in the Bogue Falaya Park. |
