MANDEVILLE, La. - If you were staring at a pile of debris left by Hurricane Katrina when you saw FEMA high tail it out of Mandeville last year, don’t be frustrated. City officials said they would soon be back.
In the aftermath of FEMA’s hasty departure from Mandeville last year several debris and tree removal projects were left unfinished, much to the surprise of all involved.
“In order to react to those people who said they have complaints about it, we have to enter into an agreement with the parish, then if we can do that, we have a vehicle to go back in and take those units out,” Mayor Eddie Price said. Price told WGSO the city has given the parish permission to clean up the remaining debris through their hurricane clean-up crew that is still on contract. The results, FEMA will be showing up back in Mandeville to finish the work it started. |
