RIVER RIDGE, La. - Nick Saban received a boost in recruiting today from familiar stomping grounds - the fertile football talent base in Louisiana. Robby Green of John Curtis tells WGSO he has commited to play football for the University of Alabama.

Green, a 6'1", 185 lb cornerback, chose the Crimson Tide over LSU and many other major college programs.

A formal announcement is planned for 3 p.m today on the campus of John Curtis christian academy.

Losing Green to an SEC rival, much less former coach Nick Saban, is especially bitter for LSU considering Green's father Robby, Sr., an Archibshop Shaw alum, played football for the Tigers.

The younger Green has been one of the most sought-after high school senior cornerbacks in America. Recruiting website Scout.com has Green ranked currently as the 13th-best cornerback in the country while rivals.com lists him 16th overall.
