MANDEVILLE, La. - Dinner on the Grounds and a Jazz concert Sunday from is being promoted as part of the revitalization of Mandeville’s historic Dew Drop Inn on Lamark Street near the lakefront.
Mandeville Councilman Zella Walker said the concert will be immediately following the dinner on the grounds and will feature local Jazz artist Chris Burk and a backup quartet.
Walker said this is the second concert the Friends of the Dew Drop Inn have hosted to promote the revitalization of the building. She feels this location if very significant to the community.
“The experience of being there and hearing music played in that same place is accessible for the general public,” she said. “This place is so pristine and it just resonates with the spirit of the musicians who’ve played there before.”
She said the concert takes place from 4 to 6pm and is open to the public with limited seating. Anyone looking for information on purchasing tickets should inquire at Barlow Art Gallery in Mandeville or call 985-626-3512.
Walker added Friends of the Dew Drop Inn Jazz Hall will be sponsoring another concert in early December. |
