FOLSOM, La. - A vehicle flip-over on Anthony Road in Folsom Saturday afternoon claimed the life of the driver when he overcorrected and lost control.
Fire Protection District Five Spokesman Lt. Bill Skinner said the victim, 24-year-old Brandon Graffagnini of Franklinton, began to drift to the right of the roadway then overcorrected to the left. “And he wasn’t going that fast but unfortunately he didn’t have his seatbelt on,” he said. “I think his head hung out of the window as the car was rolling and he suffered severe head trauma and died on the scene.” Skinner said the evidence at the scene indicates Graffagnini was still alive for two or three minutes after the vehicle came to a complete stop. The nature of the accident also indicates he would have survived had he been wearing his seatbelt instead of sitting on it. He added many accidents that have recently claimed the lives of drivers and passengers could have easily been prevented by wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol use is not indicated. |
