A two-year old Franklinton boy is dead after his parents found him locked in their family car.
It happened Sunday afternoon in Washington Parish. Police say the parents were taking a nap when the toddler walked out of the home and locked himself in the car. The boy was also supposed to be sleeping. Capt. Fred Kirby of the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office says the boy knew how to work the door and locks. "He had been allowed to play in the car in the past, getting in, standing up at the wheel to pretend he was driving, and work the door locks," said Kirby. However, police speculate that the boy paniced and became overwhelmed by the heat in the vehicle. The father found his son laying unconcious in the front seat. Kirby says that no one has been charged in the little boy's death, but the case is still open. |
