Every day from 12 noon to 3 pm Ed Clancy delivers to the masses his own style of classy Louisiana humor [and no, that's not an oxymoron]. Clancy's sometimes silly, sometimes biting, Eddy-torials keep life in this delightfully unique state in perspective. With an assist from Paul Harvey news and comment, Ed augments his list of celebrity and non celebrity guests with serious recitations called "The Poet's Corner," highlighting such works of musical magic as "Wild Thing" and "Louie Louis." Equally hilarious is his semi-regular "go for joke," department and interruptions from 'my mother, the buzzer,' who admonishes Ed when he or one of his guests uses a banished word or phrase which defiles the queen's english. [e.g. "at the end of day," "early on" and "efforting." ]
Although Ed traverses the lake called Pontchartrain in a limo with a trained, and usually sober, driver, his humility is well founded in his early life. |

I grew up about 20 minutes from Lexington, Kentucky, the heart of horse country. My whole life has been spent with having all the stray animals in the neighborhood beat a path to my door, as if there's an invisible sign that only the animals can understand that says "Are you homeless or hungry? There are warm beds and gourmet meals inside and it's free. Come on in!" |
