NEW ORLEANS (WGSO) -- The New Orleans Zephyrs have a new player with an extensive major league background. The parent New York Mets have signed veteran infielder Marlon Anderson to a minor league contract and have assigned him to the Zephyrs. In 23 games with the Dodgers this season, the 33-year old Anderson hit .231 with a pair of RBI before being released. Anderson has played for the Mets, Dodgers, Phillies, Devil Rays, Cardinals, and Nationals in a 10-year major league career.

Man Accused of Northshore Sex Crimes

St. Tammany, LA (ABC26News) Meredith Mendez - A Pearl River man accused of sex crimes against two young girls is in the St. Tammany Jail tonight and deputies are worried there could be more victims. Sheriff Jack Strain said a tip led investigators to James Griffin's house on Highway 41.

A source within the Loyola University administration has confirmed this a short time ago.

 
TACO TRUCKS MUST RUN FOR THE BORDER

Jefferson Parish, LA (WGSO) Jeff Crouere -Yesterday, Jefferson Parish officials started issuing citations to property owners that allowed taco trucks to conduct business on their premises. Five food stands were in violation of the new parish law. Nonetheless, food operators claim that they will disregard the parish law until property owners force them to leave their locations.

After serving for 22 years as Offensive Coordinator at Slidell High School, Liuzza was recently named Head Coach of the Tiger football program, succeeding Wayne Grubb, who was promoted to assistant principal at the school.

NEW ORLEANS, LA - Ken Trahan - WGSO, 990 AM has learned that New Orleans Hornets owner George Shinn is on the verge of selling a 25 percent minority share of his NBA franchise to a Galliano businessman. Gary Chouest, who owns Edison Chouest Offshore, a lucrative marine supply company, is the buyer of interest. While Shinn confirms the interest from a local group and that talks are ongoing, he has vehemently denied other media reports that he intends to sell his entire interest in the Hornets.
