Welcome to another edition of Ringside Politics with Jeff Crouere.

Today’s Hot Topics:

1) At least 20 students have been injured at a Pittsburgh area high school  following a stabbing attack on Wednesday.  The suspect was captured by the police and is in custody.  This shows that any weapon can be used to cause violence and not just guns.

2) Rep. Vance McAllister continues to face heat following the release of a video showing him kissing his female aide, Melissa Peacock.  Peacock’s husband has spoken out saying that Vance McAllister campaign on Christian values was fake and that McAllister was not a religious person at all.  Are voters going to forgive him or vote him out of office?

3) U.S. Rep Louie Gohmert of Texas got into a heated exchange with Attorney General Eric Holder on Tuesday at a House Judiciary Committee hearing.  Holder was testifying on the Justice Department’s reluctance to hand over documents on the prosecution of a Texas-based Islamic charity.  Gohmert brought up the Fast and Furious scandal which Holder fought back saying “You don’t want to go there.”  We need more congressman like Gohmert to go after Holder.

4) Rev Al Sharpton is back in the news after it was revealed he worked as an informant for the FBI in back in the 1980s to help take down the Mafia.  Is Sharpton credibility hurt?

Ringside Politics- Apr 8, 2014

Welcome to another edition of Ringside Politics with Jeff Crouere.

Today’s Hot Topics:

1) U.S. Rep Vance McAllister is in hot water after a video surfaced of him kissing one of his aides.  McAllister, a Christian conservative, is asking for forgiveness from God and his family for the scandal.  McAllister ran on a family values platform behind the support of “The Duck Dynasty family.”  Should he leave office or be given another chance?

2) Former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton were seen sitting together at last night’s NCAA Basketball National Championship in Dallas.  Bush and Clinton sat in Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones suite to watch UCONN’s 60-54 victory over Kentucky to win the NCAA title.  What are your thoughts?

3) UCONN’s campus broke out in riots after their men’s basketball team won the national championship over Kentucky last night in Dallas.  Several people were arrested after fires were started in the streets, property damage and students threw a lamp post into a window.  Don’t people know how to celebrate the right way without stupid acts of violence?

4) Ted Kennedy Jr., the son of late U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy, is making plans to run for State Senate in Connecticut.  The dynasty of the Kennedy family continues.

1) Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said that those who come to the United States illegally do it as an “act of love” for their families.  Bush made the remarks at an event marking the 25th anniversary of his father former President Bush’s presidency.  Do you agree with him?

2) Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich has resigned over backlash for his pro- traditional marriage stance.  The resignation came after it revealed Eich donated $1,000 to a group that supported Proposition 8 back in 2008.  Whatever happened to free speech in this country?

3) Paramount biblical epic “Noah” slipped to second place at the weekend box office taking in $17 million.  Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Solider claimed the top spot easily with $96.2 million.  Noah took a dramatic dip after winning the box office last weekend with $ 44 million and it seems to indicate that the bad publicity had quite an impact.

4) The White House may be putting an end to President Obama taking selfies.  Obama took a selfie with Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz at last week’s White House celebration of the team’s 2013 World Series Championship.  It was later reveled that Ortiz was promoting a new Samsung phone.  The White House must now realize selfies are not very presidential.  It is a little late for that.
